Well I think the Logging to wordpress in order to leave a comment is kind of too many steps. I use HaloScan (no need to login).
anyway I like your blog, and I wanted to ask you if you host this website is on a Macmini.
I used HaloScan in a previous incarnation of my blog. I had forgotten about it, so thanks for the reminder. I’ll look into using it.
The site used to be hosted on my Mac Mini. Unfortunately, I started having strange, unsolvable connectivity problems with my cable modem. It was randomly resetting itself, not grabbing an IP, stuff like that. Makes it difficult to host a site if nobody can get to it. After much frustration, I decided to purchase hosting. And of course my cable modem problems promptly vanished.
Happy to see someone is reading. One of these days, I may actually post some real content.
I do host my website on a Mac mini / a router and I’ve never had a problem with my IP. It has been the same ip for 4 months already.
anyway I’ve been thinking about movint the site to a hosting services but I don’t know how much it would cost, in the other hand I don’t like the idea of leaving my mac mini on 24/7.
I’m pretty sure there’s just something wrong with the cable line in my apartment.
I pay $7.95/month for hosting, but the price will completely depend on your needs. And I wouldn’t worry about leaving the Mini on 24/7. It won’t crash, and it shouldn’t be pulling all that much power.
As of now, I read this blog. Also, nearlyfreespeech.net rocks.
