What am I doing?

I’ve been feeling direction-less lately. I feel like I’m wasting every day. Yesterday I picked up three different books, started them, and then put them back down. I subscribe to 10 different computer-related mailing lists. I read them, but never contribute. My attention span is about as long as a [...]

Premature Consumerist Binge

I don’t get that bonus check until March, but I just couldn’t wait. I went to CompUSA last Saturday afternoon and bought a Nokia 770. I wrote a pretty decent review here. Since writing that review, I’ve gotten it to pair with my RAZR so I can get on the ‘net when [...]

My Next Toy

When I get my bonus check in March, I’ve decided that part of it will go to pay for a Nokia 770. It’s got wifi, bluetooth, USB, and it runs Linux. It’s also possible now to boot Einstein on it. I’m hoping that it will be everything that the PSP is not. [...]

New Office

On Friday I bid farewell to cubicle life. Over the past several months, my department has been moving to another building on campus. My group was the last to move and today was my first day living in an actual office. With actual windows and a door. I posted some pictures [...]

The Stevenote

My brief first impressions of some of Apple’s new offerings:

iLife ‘06 - I’ll definitely be making a trip to the Menlo Park Apple Store to pick this up. The new iPhoto features look pretty snazzy, especially if I want to get Steph that “Sexy Poses of A.J.” calendar. iWeb is intriguing; I’m curious [...]

One of those internet tests

As someone who works in psychometrics, I’m skeptical of the validity of these things and I don’t plan on posting things like this often, but the result was pretty dead on. Perhaps it will go on the About page.

INTP - the Architect
You scored 0% I to E, 31% N to S, 76% F to [...]

Almost Paradise

The PSP might be the most perfect electronic device I have ever owned. My Newton comes very close, but the hardware is so old it limits the functionality you can achieve. Unfortunately, the PSP is still not perfect. I haven’t actually researched it, but I’m sure hundreds of people have written about [...]

Blog on PSP

Here’s this page on both the PSP’s web browser and Firefox on my PowerBook.  The PSP does some weird things with hyperlink colours, and the page doesn’t fit, but otherwise I think it looks pretty good.

Bad cable. No cookie.

My connectivity has been a little less flaky the past two days.  It’s still crapping out now and then, but it worked almost all day yesterday.  I think I’m going to have to call Comcast and make them run new cable because this situation is unnacceptable.

First Post

This is my 4th or 5th [depending on how you count] blogging software experiment.

Using iBlog to host on my .Mac account

Blogger

LiveJournal was ok, but it’s really quite limited. Customisation is basic and there’s little you can do in the way of organisation. Plus the blogging community [...]
